Lol well then yes I am to busy to know every quote out there... bumped this cuz I know some of you GTO lovers would know about this and if it's a good deal... maybe you'd be interested

It's an 04 GTO w/ 62k miles for $12k, but could probably snag for less again I have no idea what they are worth.

A tech over at Sewell Infiniti has a white one that he cammed and it sounds freaking wicked!

Maybe not fast though as he never wanted any of the Stang...

12g's for an 04 LS1 GTO? Seems a bit steep considering you can get the 05-06 models with the LS2 for about the same price...with dual exhaust, ram air hood, and higher resale value. I've driven both and stock to stock...there is no comparison...LS2 all the way.

If he's happy with what he bought thats fine and dandy...I'm just pointing out that I've seen them for a lot less. I just looked at Craigslist and found 3 04 GTO's for under 10 grand. Hell...when I was actually considering a new one back in 05 I found a dealer wanting to clear out the last 04's on the lot for 19 grand NEW. That was tempting as hell but the exterior was so bland I just couldn't do it. They are nicely made cars and the interior is MUCH better than most American cars.

Most of the ones I found when looking were in the 15-18 range for excellent condition. I'd be driving one instead of a Mach if I had found a good one for under 13

That's right at book value for a clean '04 A4 GTO. And the resale value isn't that much higher on the '05'-'06, usually due to abuse by it's owners. And there is also a segment that didn't like the fly by wire on the LS2s, nor the front hood scoop. And the LS2 was there simply because '04 was the end of life for the LS1.

And the '04 GTO does have true dual exhaust. And they also run pretty damn good once you get a tune in there to disable GMs torque management garbage that neuters it. The '05-'06 designed used the split rear exhaust with the diffuser to make it look more Americanized. Remember, the '04 - '06 GTOs are imports. They are just an Australian Holden Monaro with Pontiac badging. Same car. Same manufacturing plant.

Poor sales and the fact they weren't going to comply with the new Federal Air Bag Standards is why they went out of production.

I just got back from a 3500 mile road trip around the Southeastern US with my son. I must say I got to ring it out a bit without wifey and the girls along whining. Blue ridge parkway was a blast and it performed flawlessly and handled nicely for such a big car

Computer said I averaged 25.3 for the trip but it was closer to 22.5 once I did the math. Still not bad considering a lot of sport and manual mode driving in the twisty's for about a 1/3 of the trip
