And at Leah: Trazadone??? I was given that years ago to help me sleep during a divorce, that shit is crazy strong. It was actually an anti-depressant back in the old days. If someone was depressed,they just knocked them out...;problem solved! Most doctors won't prescribe Trazadone more than 1/2 times....it's a highly addictive narcotic so keep that in mind.

I took it for close to a year and didn't feel addicted to it and I didn't have a problem when I quit using it. Chili and I had just started dating when I began taking it and I wouldn't take it unless he spent the night. I had to be sitting in bed when I took it and it would knock my ass out in about 10 minutes. I couldn't walk and I would sleep so soundly, I worried I wouldn't hear the kids (the reason I waited until he would stay the night). I got used to it and it got to where it barely worked and I would have big time hangovers the next morning if I didn't take it early enough at night. If you can't get a full 8 hours after taking it, it takes it's toll on you.

I use Ambien now (I think it's 6.5 or something) and it has stopped being as effective as it was so I'm on the phone now trying to get the dosage upped a bit.

I had a doc give me a script for Restoril since Ambien wasn't doing it one time, that stuff is rough, never would make me tired and all kinds of side effects. I let him know, and he bumped up the dosage for the Ambien.

Obviously, this won't help for tonight, but tomorrow go and pick up some 10mg Melatonin. It's over the counter in the supplements section at any Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, etc. It's a natural supplement that aids in sleep.

I use Ambien or Trazadone, but when I'm out or whatever, I'll use Melatonin and it helps a lot.

I just started using this because the doc has said that the VA won't up my ambien anymore. Mixing it with ambien seems to be working great
