No! We would stay away from that victim like no other unless he needed help. Screw a bunch of official oppression. It is not his fault the officer screwed up. Also if the officer still had a job after it was all over we would beat on that guy all day everyday for a longggg time about the incident.

I am sorry but I was not around during the hey day of the secret brother hood. Things are way different now I am positive of this. I worked with a guy that was in his seventies for a while and I am pretty sure back in the day there was some strange shit going on. Now days that does not fly in the majority of departments. We have cameras that are on all the time, we are taught you lie you die, it is just not what some guys think it is. I like it that way and I tell guys all the time, just go in and tell them you fucked up. Yeah you may get in trouble but not near as much as if you omitted a small piece of critical information. Not to mention the respect you lose from your fellow officers.
