When I enlisted Clinton was in office and all the seasoned vets at that time were saying how bad it was with barely being considered "lower class" income level. Then Bush got elected and things changed, raises came at higher percentages and those same seasoned vets started saying we were lucky that we enlisted when we did and we weren't going to have to suffer as much as they did. In Clinton's era, there was a 13.5% wage gap between private sector jobs and comparable military jobs at it widest point. When Bush left the White House the gap was narrowed to 3.4%. Speaks volumes of Presidents who support the military and the Presidents who have felt there are more important places to spend the governments budget.
He plans to cut 10,000 ground troops soon.DE OPPRESSO LIBER

I'm a Marine, active duty for 6 years and now a drilling reservist for almost a year. When I was active I was a helicopter enlisted aircrewman (I flew and worked on helicopters as a door gunner, aerial observer and flight engineer), and am now a C130 enlisted aircrewman in the reserves. If he is interested about either of those feel free to hit me up. Obviously I've been through boot camp, combat training and quiet a few schools so if he has any recruit training questions feel free to post them up.

ZOMG, I really think you meant to post "advice" there!!!!!!!!! Lol Lol LolOriginally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Bumping this back up as we have finally made progress after a years worth of headaches, problems, and delays with MEPS. My son will officially be departing for San Diego no later than this coming Tuesday according to MEPS. He is very excited and ready to get the next chapter of his life started as well as his career.
I'd like to thank all of you who offered up your time and attentiveness in trying to help answer the questions that my son had(especially HarrisonTX and Danny46), and more importantly offering your support.
Now he begins the fun part.
