What was his MOS? He will be shitting red hot bricks sideways when he gets on that bus. Pretty much one of the best times of his life is about to happen since he sounds like he is excited to go...

Congrats to him for signing up. Absolutely go over everything with a fine tooth comb. Paper pushers get things wrong and recruiters have been known to fudge paperwork different than what they told you to fill areas they need.

I'd like to thank all of you who offered up your time and attentiveness in trying to help answer the questions that my son had(especially HarrisonTX and Danny46), and more importantly offering your support.

Now he begins the fun part.
Oh far out man. I'm glad he got in. I knew if yall stuck after it he'd get in.

I'm not a recruiter, but I served in that branch. I might be able to answer your questions.

Yeah man, we just kept putting the pressure on them for answers and we finally prevailed.

I was a 2171 doing Electro-Optical Ordnance repair from '95-'00. Good job and you get to go everywhere and do almost anything you want.

2147 (LAV Mechanic) here. I was trying to get a 2111 (armorer) job though.

On average, AF has the best billet around. And officers get the best billets over enlisted. So the real key is not to enlist but commission in as an air force officer

Plus, if you really want to blow people up and cut them down with high tech weapons, it is all drone wars now, until skynet takes over or the decepticons return. Just don't carry any lady gaga CDs to work, they frown on that stuff these days...

No shit, but if you talk to some of the central recruiting station personnel apparently most of the applicants have a hard time with the name and address portion, even though it is a pre-printed sticker...
