Originally posted by Pro88LX View PostSo, I quit my job selling Hondas last month to pursue other ventures. I am currently studying to get licensed to sell insurance, and i haven't had to study anything in almost 10 years lol. Needless to say its wearing my brain out quick. Anyone have some helpful things that you do to help you study, and absorb the material? Also maybe some things or habits that keep you focused? I go to the library for 4-8 hours a day to study because when at home, i'm either watching tv, doing chores, or on here and never get anything done. Sorry for the long post.
Thanks in advance!
Chris
PS im still cool with all of the managers up at the Honda store, so if anyone needs anything let me know.
You need someone that understands the material / subject to study with, to help relay the info to you not only visual via books/materials, but audible as well and they can also put things into laymans term to help the material stickOriginally posted by VertnutI'd run my junk through a waffle iron, if it makes you more "comfortable". Property and casualty.
Oh...that one is easy. You could take the Kaplan class. Its boring as hell, but you really do learn the info. Its 3 eight hour days.

1. Study by rote. (I say that by a fixed routine and schedule everyday. This promotes study discipline.)
2. Using Mnemonics can be an excellent learning tool.
3. Make yourself index flash cards and have someone quiz you using the cards.
4. Study in an environment with least distraction as possible.
5 Word rhymes and repetition. That's why we can remember TV commercial jingles so well. Whether we want to or not.

Everyone is different. Personally I'd just read through the material thoroughly, pausing and rereading anything that I thought was important. Then the day of any exam I'd blast through everything again just as a refresher.
I've also found that just about anything I type out is hard to forget. You are actively producing the material and reading it back at the same time. You should retain more of it than if merely reading it.
