  • welders..

I have an Ex Rental AIRGAS bottle. They of course won't refill it.

Know of any places in the north dallas (im in coppell) area that will fill an Argon/Nitrogen bottle? I normally use Ferguson or Airgas, but I need a mom/pop shop or something that will just refill this and not exchange.

    TIA

Might try calling Metroplex welding supply?

So whats the deal, do most of them not have on-site refill stations? or they dont mess with it while you wait or something?

if something is owned by somebody else or out of date, they won't mess with it.

MOST places don't fill your bottle, they just exchange.

I've got a little mom n' pop about 3 blocks from my house that actually fills their own stuff

Maybe they think the bottle is stolen.

Yea, I understand their reasoning. Was just hoping somebody knew of a smaller place that would fill it. its not out of date.

Would Airgas swap a customer owned ferguson industrial bottle, or they always sticklers about that stuff?

            next one:
Anybody have a 150cf ish Argon/nitrogen bottle they want to sell

What are you using argon/nitrogen for? What percentages of each are you using?

Also, why won't airgas Exchange it? You say it is an airgas bottle and it is in date right?

Are you serious? The thread title is "welders" and you're not sure what he's using it for?

As noted by someone else, if the bottle is out of date on test date no one will fill it.

he said its not out of date, did you even read the whole thread?

Any fool can read between the lines on this one, the damn things hotter than a $2 pistol. I am not a welder but from the very limited information I have on the subject I think these cylinders are all marked one way or another and if he takes it in hes fucked when they check it "if" its been reported.

Well, in case you aren't aware, there are many forms of welding and a plethoral of materials that can be welded. I have not seen argon/nitrogen mix used, so I wondered what percentage he was using and what he is joining with it. Maybe that is need to know info? Is he doing MIG or tig or something else? What brand machine, what materials, what filler rod or wire? All these things make a difference.

                        Just tryin' to help.
Bottles can be tested. It doesnt run too awfully much though it can take a week or two to get it done.

Yeah, I read it all. I was agreeing with someone else in the thread that bottles that are out of date won't be touched. You're reading too far into it.
