  • Scotch Anyone?....in a can?

The critics biggest question is, "who is going to swig down 12oz of this at once?"....hell, I'll take a sixer before the Foghat concert!!

Seriously Though....3-year old scotch out of an aluminum can?...it's probably about as good as a warm Schlitz poured through a dirty sock.

Scotch Whiskey in Aluminum Cans Comes to the U.S.

We’ve heard of “Whiskey in the Jar,” but whiskey in a can?
Scottish Spirits Imports Inc., based in Orlando, Fla., says it will introduce single-grain and blended Scotch whiskeys in 100 percent recyclable aluminum cans beginning in December. The cans will be available in 100,000 liquor stores throughout the United States.
According to the company, its Scottish Spirits single-grain and Sir Edwin’s blended whiskey will be the first 80-proof liquors to be packaged in aluminum cans.

The cans are being marketed as a more convenient, portable, lightweight, and recyclable alternative to bottles—suitable for tailgate parties and other outdoor gatherings where broken glass is a potential concern.
Because the 12-ounce cans are not resealable, Scottish Spirits notes that they are not intended to be single-serve. Instead, the company says, the cans—which contain eight standard serving sizes of whiskey—are suitable for sharing among three or more people, whether straight up, on the rocks, or with a mixer.
While acknowledging the novelty of packaging Scotch in a can, the company notes that the impending launch “isn’t just about the can.”
“Our Scotch whiskey is an exceptional blend of the finest malt and grain having a rich honey, vanilla, butterscotch, apples, and pears taste with a nice hint of peat and smoke in the background,” Scottish Spirits says in its press materials. “This fine beverage is distilled and matured in Scotland for a minimum of three years in oak casks.”
The aluminum can does give the product a long shelf life, the company notes, allowing consumers to “stack up and stock up.”
The suggested retail price for retailers in the U.S.—the world’s largest Scotch market—is $5 per can.

It's probably shit, but I'd buy a can just on principle.

I'd buy two, one to keep, and one to sample. Haha.

haven't seen it or I would buy it on GP.

FWIW, I've got a bottle of DOMESTIC 3yr old single malt from Oregon IIRC that's actually SURPRISINGLY good!

it doesn't hold a candle to a "real" Scotch, but my dad bought some for the heck of it and snagged me a bottle.

so the 3yr thing isn't a deal breaker as far as drinkability
