  • Proper way to retire a flag

Do any VFW's or the like retire flags in a way that's considered proper, or is there such a thing?

As far as I know they still have regular flag burning cerimonies. The respectful kind, not the illegal kind.

Thank you sir. I believe we'll make it a family deal.

VFWs do them, as well as local Boy Scout councils. Contact either; they usually accept donations if you need a flag retired, and can usually provide a schedule if you want to go watch the process.

Check with your city hall or county - lots of them offer or know of drop-off locations.
