  • Question about someone claiming to be a "disabled vet"

I just got into it with someone I know who is pretty damn full of himself and he crossed the line in my mind when he called himself a "disabled vet". It threw me for a loop because that's the biggest crock of shit, he became disabled after he plowed his mustang into a car going 120mph AFTER he left the army. So now he wants to walk around claiming he's a disabled vet and it makes me want to punch him in the throat. Am I over reacting to this or am I right?

Well, he is a vet and is disabled. There is some slight misrepresentation going on there though, because the two terms are being used in conjunction as if one is the result of the other.

Get somebody to ask how he got disabled and force him to either admit his disability isn't service-related or even better get him to paint himself into a corner by making up a war story then bust his ass.

Exactly, and I explained to him that he is trying to twist the meaning to make it sound like he was injured while serving. Alas he's too stupid to comprehend what I was telling him. It was funny as hell though as our hottie waitress asked him how he was injured then he paused and said..... "I wrecked my mustang" and she laughed at him. After this he just rolled his eyes and said whatever.

Maybe his Father is a disabled Vet and bought him the Mustang? There's gotta be a website we can go check this on.

Disabled vet to me means injuries sustained in service. He can call himself a Vet if he served in combat, but after hes out hes a civilian and no different from any other fuckstick who wrecks their car or falls off a ladder.

If he served and was honorably discharged, he's a vet. Here's how you shut him up. Ask him what his disability rating with the VA is.
