If you have a decent sized group of hogs or a new generation you can trap them, usually you get the younger ones, or you get a sow with a bunch of piglets. Occasionally you get a single boar. However, after you trap a few times they stop showing up.. either they learn not to go in there, or the pigs with a predisposition to not enter into small spaces procreate. Either way, some pigs you just can't trap. Many times I've seen hogs tracks all around a trap but not a single one entered.

No you dont. Sure, it's nice to have those toys and they are a lot of fun and make it easier. What you NEED is to put the time in the field. If you arent out there often popping ever pig you see you'll never get rid of your problem.

Heading out tomorrow for some serious pig killing! Vids will be posted next week.

That post was made in relation to clearing out a hog population in a single night. You need those tools to do that. No way in hell you're going to get every hog on a property with a spotlight and a bolt gun.

                • Flew for 4 hours yesterday. Killed right at 50 pigs, and we only flew 6 pastures. They killed 80 two weeks ago in only two pastures. We're going to go up again next week to fly the rest of the ranch

Will post pics and vids when I get into the office on Monday.

Just curious, what do you do with all the carcases? Bonfire?

No need, there are plenty of carnivores roaming North Texas that will enjoy the fresh meat.

All the hog leftovers we dispose of are picked clean by buzzards by noon the next day.

The ones that aren't shot to shit are cut up for sauge for the ranch, the rest go into " the pit"
