Nurse that administer the blood draw ask them of any known medical problems. If he has a blood disease (.5% of anyone anyone arrested...) then the nurse would advise whether the blood draw was doable. Then the mandatory blood draw would not be done. Lol anyone else with "shoot the moon" scenarios?

I got pulled over on the way to the bar a few years back on new years eve. Cop said my license plate light was out and just asked me a bunch of shit to see if I had already been drinking, and then let me go when he realized I was still sober. When I got to the bar I looked at my license plate light and it wasn't out. That asshole lied right to my face just to see if I was drinking and driving. Ever since then I try to stay at home on new years eve.

I quit drinking last year, the day after the DFWM Christmas party at SanFran Rose. If i go out for New Years Eve, and I get pulled over......I'll comply with whatever they need me to do. No sense lengthening a stop. I guarantee there won't be any intoxicants in my system, so I've got nothing to worry about.Matts1911SA - XBox Live Gamertag

Phlebotomy on somebody taking blood thinners is not lethal. I've drawn blood, IV sticks, and DC'd IVs on more patients than I can remember with a variety of comordities. Just like when Chemotherapy patients often get CBCs before each major round of treatment. To look and see where the white counts and platelet counts (among other factors) are before proceeding with the next round. They are not endangered by the blood draw in a clinical setting.
These blood draws will be done by a Nurse or Phlebotomist. Not the office secretary or copy boy.
If you plan on getting wasted this weekend, just stay home or have a DD. Avoid the unnecessary BS that you will go through otherwise. Your disdain against the process is understandable, but I can't see how anybody would want to be arrested and go through all that BS simply as an act of defiance.
I for one am staying off the streets just simply because I don't want some asshole totaling my car. Already went through that once this year. Didn't buy the t-shirt.
Ya'll have a good one.

Pretty soon, it will be a no refusal weekend every day. The fines for DWI are higher than those for failure to control. Prosecutors need the evidence - if you don't blow - it's much harder to prove you've been drinking.
I am very much opposed to drinking and driving, having watched friends die on multiple occasions because of it - but johnny law abider should not have to subject himself to sobriety checkpoints or any other illegal search to allegedly make the rest of us safer.
There are tons of people that get away with drinking and driving every day, checkpoints or not, refusal policies or not. I know because I got away with it at least a few thousand times. The current methods are ineffective.
