need woman's/mother's advocacy help in child custody

wife's sister is poor white trash, her husband is in prison. the paternal grandmother is wealthy and trying to steal the kid. the mom and the maternal grandparents aren't flat broke. They can provide a better home and moral upbringing for the child, they're just trash and don't even know where to start and are getting pushed around by this lady

the one advocacy/free legal agency they got in touch with assisted the maternal grandmother 15yrs ago, so they say that they can't help the mother because it violates attorney/client privacy

I call BS, but this family is such a cluster fuck, I don't really know where to start.

If anybody has any ideas/leads/etc. I would really appreciate any advice. I'm of the mind to let the chips fall where they may, but I do honestly believe the child will receive a better upbringing with my wife's family for MANY reasons. Otherwise I'd sit back and watch the shit burn to the ground.

What grounds is the grandmother fighting with? The beauty of Texas is that a mother pretty much has to be smoking crack in front of the judge for the courts to declare a mother unfit.
