I occasionally go to Sears to search for some special tool I need to accomplish a task...and they usually dont have anything I can't get at Home Depot or Lowes for less money. If they don't seriously get competitive with HD, Lowes, and others...their days are numbered.

You went in to ride the rides, didn't you? Or was it to get a delicious ICEE?

The stupid pink pony at the mall doesn't cut it, and I can't help it if no one else in town has a unicorn to ride.

But it's Sears! They are an american icon we can't let them go under! I think the government should step in and help them out.

Going through the doors of a Sears store makes you feel like you just went through a time warp. Most of their stores look just like they did in the Eighties. The newer stores are OK but so many of their products are now considered sub par. A LONG time ago, Craftsman was considered some of the better tools you could buy. Their automotive tools are OK, I guess, but their woodworking tools are just cheap crap or rebadged tools of other brands. Kenmore is pretty much the same way.

Couple that with the onslaught of internet retail and you get the death of an once great retail outlet.

I don't personally know anyone that goes to Sears anymore. The last time my parents went was about 8 years ago for a TV.

The tools made Sears. Now that's its mostly junk, and everyone knows it.

You should get out more. Grainger, fastenal and most industrial supply stores carry Craftsman.

I'm quite disappointed that there was no joke about mustache rides.

As for Sears, they are fucked and have been for a while. I don't know what it is about them that won't let them get their act together. They are the Amazon of the 19th century, maybe they need to return to that.

There is one near my house in katy i go to. If you go the right time you can get some wicked good deals. The store will compound discounts. So if sears is doing 50% off on an item, the store a 25%, then a craftsman club member discount, you can pull prices even harborfreight is jealous of.
