Why does the officer need to take the physical copy of the card? Aren't all you guys using Texassure?

They use to not list drivers on the returns, just if the car had insurance or not. I am seeing more and more though drivers and excluded drivers listed.

The computer stuff is not 100 percent so you need your card. It just helps.

Osiris sexually harassed me, and still gave me a ticket.

What if I make a donk with all the trimmings (huge rims, lifted, obnoxious sound system, etc) and use my insurance card as the paint scheme?

                    Rolling proof of insurance FTW.

You would need to figure something out every six months when it expired. Maybe a photo copy sticker like the old registrations stickers.

Just carry a physical printout and you'll be fine. Having the officer write your insurance info down will only delay the length of the traffic stop. Jfurst: some of your questions are absurd. Seems like you're trolling for an FTP thread here. The insurance info on our computers isn't 100% accurate.

why do they even ask? anybody can print a fake card...

the past few times I've been pulled over without a card, the officer didn't even seem to care. I assumed they had access to a database now
