  • Best $1k TV at Best Buy

Cliff notes: gift cards to BB, must be able to verify price match locally to Austin, what TV is best?

    This thread got me thinking...
I ran in there to buy my wife an iPad (only because I had a $50 gift card that was about a year old) and asked if they would price match Microcenter, that is right down the road. ($50 cheaper). The douchebag lead guy in the computer area got all pissy and said that they wouldn't price match them because "he heard that

So... I traded in some mileage points from my credit card for a gift card, got some gift cards for b-day & Christmas, and now I'm ready to get a new TV for the living room. I live in the Austin area, so I need to be able to price match locally with Fry's, A&B TV (local to Austin), etc. Best Buy won't match online retailer pricing, so it has to be in stock at a local store with the exact product #.

50" is the perfect size with minimal borders. I already have surround sound, so I'm not worried about speakers. I'm looking at LED, 1080p, at least 120Hz, etc. I don't think I need 3D, but I've never had it so I'm not sure.

    Maybe something like this...

What is the best 46-52" TV on the market?

I just bought a Sharp 52" LED LC-52LE830U and I'm very happy with it. I know you said 1K, but it was only $1299 and worth the money.

$1199 right now in Austin. Not a bad choice. I want to stay with a major name brand, so this fits that criteria.

I'm willing to pay more for a Samsung, since it seems they are higher than the comparable ones (Sharp, Sony, Panasonic, etc). I have a 22" LCD Samsung for the guest bed and it is fine.

I got a good deal on an open box at Compusa off of 121 in Bedford. Might be another place for you to check out.

We have three Samsungs in the house (60", 52", 40") and a bunch of other appliances by Samsung. No complaints here. Save up a little more and get a Samsung.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
