2013 GT or 07+ GT500?

  • 2013 GT or 07+ GT500?

    Been keeping some close tabs on pricing lately, and I've seen several GT500s dip into the upper 20s, some with decently low milage(20k or so). There is a 12 GT at Grapevine Ford right now for 24k with no options. Assuming in a year the pricing of the two will be almost exactly dead even with each other, which one would you choose? GT500 is 500hp, plenty of options. 13 GT will be 420hp, probably virtually no options, but be newer, more refined, have a little less milage. I LOVE the idea of that 5.0 emblem, but I also really loved my 01 Cobra, and would like to have another. So, what would you guys choose and why? Should be interesting.

    Neither, just put 24k into a foxbody and rule the world.

      I would take the newer option myself. If I'm gonna shell out that kind of scratch, I want the latest and greatest.

        Im in the same boat. Trying to decide which to get. I was looking at the 08+ GT500 vs. the '12 Boss 302 vs. the 03/04 Cobra.

          Assuming the quality on the newer ones is better, get the '13, or get an 03-04 Cobra and with the money saved, KB or Whipple that ho.

            Decide if you want a 500HP 5 year old car with no warranty(but with some exclusivity), or a brand new 420HP car with a warranty.

                With the gt500 being a pig and the nice gearing in the 5.0's I think they are similar in performance.
                I would go with the 5.0, I loved my 2011 5.0, prob going to get a 13 when they come out.

                          Maybe an air filter and a shifter at most. I'm done with the modding things unless I get some old iron again.

                            Yeah ford keeps cutting the fat on them, not sure of the specifics though.

                              Then get the '13 with the warranty. Also, as far as non-optioned, what are we talking? No leather and multi-disc or what? What DOES it have option-wise?
