  • Texans love their Asparagus.

Evidently, asparagus is the hard to find item this year. I went to 5 different grocery stores before I finally found some. It must be the dish of choice this year.

I found nothing but empty asparagus shelves at first. Surprisingly, artichokes were also a big hit item.

I love it but don't associate it with the holidays.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

It shouldn't be associated with the holidays as its a spring veggie. Might just be out of season, and not much was available this late in the year.

I love asparagus. Grilled, steamed, or even in bacon-wrapped bundles like you do with green beans.
But I'd agree that I don't think of it as a holiday veggie.

Remember when vegetables used to be seasonal?

It has nothing to do with it being a seasonal vegetable. It's a very healthy food...lots of recent articles have published it's benefits and pinterest has been filled with the same shit according to my gf. Plus new years is coming up.

That said...I've bought it several times in the past month with no issues. Kale on the other hand has been out

Monsanto made certain that seasons were engineered out of veggie production.
