  • Best Buy in Plano - Parker/75

I ran in there to buy my wife an iPad (only because I had a $50 gift card that was about a year old) and asked if they would price match Microcenter, that is right down the road. ($50 cheaper). The douchebag lead guy in the computer area got all pissy and said that they wouldn't price match them because "he heard that they're refurbished and out of stock". I laughed and told the guy to call them...they had several in stock and they were not refurbs. He got all pissy and told me to buy it there. I don't see how that place stays in business! I guess there are a lot of people buying their $50 hdmi cables! Lol

I was on my way to McKinney, so I stopped by the one in Allen, and they didn't give me a single problem. They called MC and immediately price matched it. If it weren't for the fact that I had the gift card, I would've just gone to MC to begin with. So, if you're Dead set on overpaying for electronics and accessories, skip the bad customer service in Plano and at least get good customer service at the Allen location.

    Short story:
Best Buy in Plano = bad
Best Buy in Allen = good

I tried to get them (75/Walnut Hill location) to price match a Samsung TV that was on sale at Fry's a couple years ago. They told me they couldn't match it and then tried to sell me a bunch of accessories and discount those also to "match" the TV price. I walked out of there and went to Fry's. I only went to BB to save myself a longer trip. Fuck em if they don't want the business.

*edit. I forgot to mention, prior to telling me they couldn't match the price they tried to sell me a different Samsung (same size, different lower-end model) and say it was the same thing.

I read that they lost a law suit over their price match stuff. Frys pm is excellent, btw. They'll even pm online stores.

I hate that one. That's why I go to the one off Custer and 121.

Most of the time, that's just sales associates who don't give a shit, because they aren't commission. Ask for a manager next time, youll get exactly what you want, as long as you aren't being outrageous. I worked there years ago, and sometimes sales associates just said stuff to not have to deal with the price match paperwork. And a "lead" is nothing more than a title to make a dollar more an hour, and be full time.

Ive never really had any issues with best buy. As stated by someone else I usually make sure I deal with a manager. That being said they are more expensive than buying online most of the time, so I usually just go there for games and such.

Did they get busted using some kind of faux website in store on a intranet to inflate their prices?

Like if you came in and said "hey I saw this online at bestbuy.com for $50 but its $59.99 here, what gives?" then they pulled up their faux site and it showed $59.99.

We went to the Best Buy over by the Northeast Mall a couple weeks ago because we had some gift cards and I was really surprised at how crappy they had become. It had been a couple of years since I had been to one. It gave me the whole Conn's feel. I told Leah then, I don't see myself going into a Best Buy again.

Yeah I have had several problems with Best Buy and will not do business with them again. Bunch of bad liars and wannabe crooks. Thankfully they are dumb and in the end it has always worked out for me.

Best Buy sucks. I buy almost all of my electronics online. If I must go to a store, I go to Fry's.

You misspelled the title, it's Worst Buy. They'll screw ya at any given opportunity.

My rant's from '07 are still pertinent and their policies haven't changed. Google Best Buy and PSP(in store warranty purchase)

The sales associate said that he was "a manager"...I assumed that he was a dept manager, lead or something like that. He didn't offer up another person to ask, he just insisted that the iPads at mc were refurbs and out of stock because "someone told him", so they wouldn't price match. He was acting like such an ass about it that I really didn't care to shop there. A few other customers looked a little shocked by it as well, and one stopped me as i was leaving and asked where micro enter was.
