Growing up we always did my parents gifts on Christmas Eve and "Santa" on Christmas morning, now days since neither me(26) or my sister(21) have kids it is just a Christmas Eve deal and sleep in sunday then go eat lunch at my aunts.

When i ws growing up, we opened one present from the grandparents up at Christmas Eve dinner. Christmas Morning was for family and Santa.
After a bit we started calling it a white elephant christmas eve because the gifts from the grand parents sucked so bad. One year when i was eight i got a set of wooden spoons. Lol, i'm sure my face was like WTF?

Usually we get together for Christmas Eve at my Uncle's home in Louisiana. We always open presents after dinner and then shoot off a few hundred bucks worth of fireworks. We just set aside a few things for the kids so they can open them on Christmas day.
We don't really do that regularly any more since my Grandpa died. He was the patriarch of the family. However we do still get together every couple of years or so..Comment

God Damnit someone told me there was no such thing as Santa.
After the kids grew up we started opening shit on Xmas eve, I get to drunk on eve and want to sleep in with Mrs. Santa, thats when I get MY Christmas gift. He He, Mrs. Santa sits on Santa's north pole.
I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,

We do Christmas with my wife"s family on Christmas Eve and Christmas day with my family. And yes I get all tore up on Christmas Eve just so I can tolerate the other-side of the family.

We've been going to my grandparents every Christmas eve since I was a kid and opened presents from them and other members of our family. Then on Christmas day we'd open presents from Santa/parents.
This year is going to be crazy now that I have a son. Going today to my best friends moms, then my grandparents. Tomorrow we're going to have Christmas at our place, my girlfriends moms, my parents, and my girlfriends brothers house. Wifey was after me to open everything as soon as it was midnight today.... When she wakes up I am going to tell her to open what she wants. Have 4 boxes from amazon waiting. Biggest hit will be the "endless brownie" pan off of thisiswhyimboke.com. Did most my shopping from there this year. Thanks whoever posted that link....Comment

Christmas was last Sunday at our house so the kiddos were able to open everything with their dad home. My son is too little to understand the actual meaning and my daughter still believes Christmas was last week when we left out milk, cookies, carrots and a note to Santa.
When we're able to celebrate "normal" they open up 1 gift on Christmas Eve which is pajamas. Everything else is opened Christmas Day.Comment
