If you can get to the card via an access panel on the laptop, most can, you can unplug the white and black, or white black and grey wires, then run new wires out of the access panel externally.

Buy a linksys router, install the linux firmware.

Cover the entire block with 1kilowatt of 2.4 GHz radiation.

you can also just get an external USB wifi adapter with a small antenna. you can then build a cable/antenna to pick it up

If your laptop has a PCMCIA (cardbus) slot...I might have a more practical solution for you.

Did you check with your neighbor to see if you could gank his wifi? There are all kinds of legal situations you don't want to get in by "stealing" wifi.

If you don't password protect your wifi, it's really not "stealing"

I can't tell who's it is. Just says lynxsys. I'm not really concerned. Not like I am going to be surfing.

There are legal precedents that say otherwise.

not really. It's still an open for legal argument based solely on the Computer Use and Abuse Act.

Now there may be local and state wide legislation passed in certain states, but I don't think Texas has anything of the sort, yet.

There may be some legal action on the sharer if there is a violation of their terms of service with the ISP. It's been a hot topic recently, but if you don't password protect your wifi, or choose to use the default password that came with your router, you as the sharer would be more at fault than someone who happened to have the default password for the default SSID of your router saved in their network settings.

Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

Cantenna. or PCMCIA card generally has better reception.
