Huh? Alarms don't keep anyone out. A decent one will let you know if someone tries to mess with your stuff, though.

hah, if a crook is good enought they can get it with out alarm going off.. same goes for a house alarm. these days people steal entire vehicles not just a fancy radio. back up to it, hook up and drive off.

Ive had enough car alarms and cars still stolen with them. Ive had better luck with out alarms on my vehicles.

Ok. Point me in a good direction. It's for a 94 bronco so it doesnt need to be extravagant. Just shock sensor and door locks. One that rolls the Windows down would be awesome.

Sorry bud, but you're mistaken. With a decent alarm, you can't hook up to it without it going off. All you need is a tilt sensor and/or proximity sensor. You can't move my Explorer without it going off and paging the keypad instantly. Sucks about your shitty alarms. I've been there and done that too, and learned to upgrade. Fuck thieves.

The window feature alone will probably cost you $200.

As mentioned, getting an alarm without the right features will leave you vulnerable, but may send the thieves to the next ride instead. I'd go see Eric (EW) at Autosound.

Really? Just remote start, alarm w/shock, keyless entry, and windows down for $100-200?

My first post I was looking to spend 200 when apparently that's not possible. So then I asked with all of the features above what a good one would be to buy with the above features with or without the windows option regardless of price.

I will be installing the alarm myself. To many hack jobs out there. Not directing that toward EW.

You don't need window control when you have remote start if your A/C works. However, if you like one touch up/down control of windows through the factory window switches, a window module is nice. I have two window modules on my truck but I did not wire them to the alarm because I found that on another car I had, I NEVER used the remote to operate the windows except to demo it.

I hated installing them, about 90% of the people complained about the range issue. I would go aftermarket, better range and with the paging remotes let you know when it is running and if it is broken into.

X3.. From a novice perspective. I was lucky, the PO of my Bronco installed exactly that. I use the remote start pretty regularly in the morning when it's cold. I only hit it a couple minutes before I go out (when I'm pouring my coffee and grabbing my stuff) but it's long enough that by the time I get to the end of the block warm air is starting to come out.

Oh, and about range. I work on the 10th floor of my building and park on the bottom floor of the 3 story garage, and I can start my Bronco from 10' away from my desk.
