    130 hp and a 5 speed is a blast though (I have a 2007 base model focus).

The fiesta seems overpriced for a commuter car. If ford stripped off some of that crap (sync) and lowered the price i think it would be more attractive. But then again i'm a cheapass.

For the short time I was in one, it seemed like a decent little vehicle. I'm not sure what the average cost of a subcompact is, but $15,000 seems reasonable IMO. I always hate when people compare buying a used car to a new one. Apples to oranges. Why buy a waverunner when you can buy a used boat?
It was a slip, my bad. What I meant was the auto trans sucks, and has trouble deciding which gear it wants, a problem it wouldn't have with a manual, obviously. The car would Probably get much higher marks from me if it had a manual trans, but I'll save the judgement until I get a chance to drive one. The features I want in this car are the sunroof, and a cd player and aux port, and that's about it. Ford can keep its sync technology. Unfortunately it's pretty much standard in these cars.

I agree that it's a little overpriced for what it is. I'm on the list of people who hates sync, probably just because it didn't seem to worktoo well with my iPhone.

For real. I don't know why we can't just get an AWD/t Focus. I would LOVE one of the new 5-doors with one. And no, I don't want an Impreza. I want a Ford.

The auto is supposed to be a dual-clutch trans like an Audi TT. That's probably why it feels weird when it shifts.

I'm on board with you there. While sync is neat and all, I'd never add it for an option. I think sync is becoming standard in all fords here pretty soon, if not already.

You can also get the sedan starting at $13320.

I think you would probably like the lighter Fiesta (120hp and a 5speed). However I think you're going to see more low end cars that are highly equipped. The big 3 (or big 2.5 if you prefer) need small cars to actually make money so they are adding equipment to the base models to build up their margins. At least you're getting a good car now instead of the shit they've produced in the past.

              Correct on the dual-clutch.

Sync works fine for me in the gf's focus. Bluetooth streaming FTW.

That's about all that works, but why even stream when you can plug it into a cable, or better yet, USB? Half the voice commands come back with "I don't understand" or "What was that" Biggest POS ever put in a car IMO.
