I just got back from Europe. Hit Madrid and Barcelona, both are great cities with plenty to see and do during the day and lots of bars open late at night.

Go to Normandy and see the beaches plus point du hock. There's also an artillery battery between Omaha and Juno who's name escapes me but it still has the actual German artillery guns in it.

Also, don't fool yourself, one day isn't enough time to do shit in most of continental Europe much less London. You'll spend 2-4 hours just trying to get into the city from the airport. Spend at least a few days in London if you wanna go otherwise you should budget that time to seeing other sights. I would skip Paris for London in a heartbeat, fwiw.

Make sure to hit up at least one old castle in Germany/Austria. They've got some pretty cool ones, England has some good ones too. I preferred the German ones myself though.

...also, watch yourself and your family in south Africa. Lots of car jackings and street robberies n such. Will be better that yall will be in a wedding group, but I'm sure there will be times away from the group.

Most of all be safe and enjoy your trip, it sounds like a blast.
