I picked up a bottle of 1835 last week, and, as Slider can attest to, it comes off a bit harsh and young. I think I might make a "fall whiskey" out of it and do an apple/cinnamon/vanilla infusion
Thoughts? You have about an hour to talk me out of it
Ill leave this here... I have two. One for longer-aged Balvenie (this one) and one for bastard blends.

1 bottle of 1835 whiskey (distilled in Lewisville, TX)
2 nalgene bottles... because I can't find even a single mason jar in this house even though I know we own about 4 dozen.
2 granny smith apples
3 cinnamon sticks
1 vanilla bean
1/2 of a nutmeg... nut(?)
Slice, dice, stuff, and pour
Then class up the liquor cabinet. Going to let it sit for a week or so then test it.

Man, I wish someone could mail me a bottle of that TX whiskey. I'm stuck with what the shoppette has, which is your standard JD/Crown/Walker selection.2012 Competition Orange BOSS 302
