I need a channel or slot cut in some pine wood, 1" wide, 7/16" deep about 8" long. Need a nice square cut.
Any in Carrollton who can do that?

Kinda my first thought... "why would someone need a table for a router?"
I never was much of a woodworker.

Ever heard of a table saw? Same concept, router is table mounted for very precise work.
