  • This Is Really Sad....

Why can't people do the right things anymore? Society has really turned bad since I was a child

Teenage girl killed in hit-and-run accident

A teenage girl died this morning in a hit-and-run accident north of Denton.

Denton police are investigating after the girl was found lying in a ditch off the northbound service road of Interstate 35 near the Ganzer Road exit ramp, said Denton police spokesman Ryan Grelle.

Authorities put out alerts with a vehicle description in northern Denton and Cooke counties.

No arrests have been made, but Cooke County authorities have detained a female driver this morning whose vehicle had damage that could match debris found at the scene, Grelle said, and Denton police are questioning her.

It was unclear what time the accident happened.
I drove by the scene on my way to work this morning at 7:40 A.M. and they had not removed the body from the scene yet. How sad

Society has definitely slipped, and I hope that the girl they detained is the right one.

I'm wondering what the heck she was doing out walking that early? Maybe jogging?

I have never understood how someone can accidentally do something like hit someone and then think it would be better to leave the scene, then it would be to admit you made a mistake... the punishment is going to be WAY worse if you leave.

Not only this, but where is the sense of compassion? Not curious as to if you can save the person or animal that was just hit? Something like this is just inexcusable.

I have two times in the past, when behind another vehicle, stopped and finished the kill on animals that were hit and still suffering.

                  People with no conscience suck.

Happens here all the time. Can't tell you how many people I've almost seen hit or the ones I have almost hit that just walk, jog, bike or wheelchair out into the street with traffic coming. Like they have a death wish.

They leave with the intention of not getting caught, thus rendering stiffer punishemnt not an issue.

You just pull out your gun and put one in the head or something? Seems like you could get in trouble for that if someone sees you.

Nope. Ran back over them. Felt really bad but it had to be done. I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted to lay there writhing in pain until I finally died.

Wife actually made me do it once...

This is sad, but it happens a lot more than you hear about.

I have a family member that works in the DPS that told me they have 2-3 incidents a month of people getting hit on the side of highways. These are all hit and runs and are only discovered long after the driver is gone. They do catch a few, occasionally, and most of the time, people honestly state that they never knew they hit anyone. Crazy.

They made an arrest and identified the girl as a 41 year old woman. Sad thing is...being held on a $1,000 bond.....

For crying out loud, he killed someone......give him NO BOND!
