If you have to kill and the reason is right but the law says that it is wrong you had better be careful doing it and keep it to yourself.
If 40 years meant the retribution for something like that, I would take it in a heartbeat. I don't have kids, so don't know how I would be in that scenario, but if someone raped my mother and I got 40 years for killing the sack of shit, I wouldn't bat an eye. I'm assuming it's that feeling x10.

My condolences and best wishes for your gramps, OP. Let us know how things turn out.

Some of the circumstances surrounding this story are a little iffy. If true, someone is spending money on street drugs to poison this guy for some reason. Not rocket science to figure out who has regular access to an enfeebled old man. And does he happen to have a life insurance policy out him since he's been in declining health for such a long period? Who stands to gain in the event of his death? Follow the money trail.

Pretty dumb to attempt to poison someone with a drug like Meth, if you do so actually expecting to get away with it. And people on here actually think you're going to get a prescription drug refill error that contains Meth from a Pharmacy?..lulz Maybe I'm just reading it wrong because I'm tired. Anyways...some Cancer patients smoke weed to help stimulate their appetite and alleviate nausea.

It's time to install some hidden cameras around the house. Home surveillance lipstick cameras are cheap and will unravel your mystery wrapped inside an enigma. Hell, my HP laptop has software on it that can make the built in web camera auto motion detect and start recording video. I have a feeling your mystery is no mystery at all.

I sure as hell wouldn't. Totally justified in my eyes.

Have you ever posted less than 2 paragraphs?

Also, during drug tests on quickly metabolized drugs they are normally looking for the metabolite, not the drug. These metabolites will show up due to several different rx drugs.

I would be willing to bet that the appropriate law enforcement agencies have already started their involvement in this as I'm quite sure it was reported by the treating physician.

Same here. First thing that popped into my head was maybe he's doing it for the stimulus effects.

As hard as it may be for you to believe, he may be doing it on his own......I know my old man (76 now) got tangled up in a web of cocaine, crack-head prostitutes and "friends" who bled him dry of over $125k in just over a year.....hell, he blew through $30k in a month, which is when I initially discovered his problem....Sad and confusing times..Good luck.

They usually look for both parent and metabolite. False positives for similar metabolite bi-products is rare with modern assay and gas testing. I know this is at least true for back when John Peter Smith was a Level 1 facility. Because during a clinical rotation, a belligerent-semi incoherent individual was brought in by police. When the first screen came back positive for opiates, he pulled the I recently ate some poppy seed muffins routine. He was an obvious crack head who was resting his hopes on ignorance. The tests have been revised for years, which increased the scope of the values detected. Which eliminates casual ingestion through foods, etc... Same thing applied to change the tests to reduce/eliminate false positives for other drugs with high doses of certain NSAIDs. The trigger isn't a small finite value, which occurs through normal processes. If you are a Meth addict, you're not going to trigger a false positive on a modern test because you took a Sudafed tablet.

Gramps has a hot hospice nurse, and in order for him to hit it, they do the meth together.

After he's gotten his rocks off, they blow a blunt to chill back out.

                              Case solved!
