Not to mention the cascade effect and drop in oil consumption. This is why California's business growth has been negative and dropping exponentially for 5 years in a row. And guess what? We (the responsible states) are bailing them out.
Considering the son of the owner of several quik-kar lube places drives around in a SRT-10 viper, i dont think they are a hurting trade.

It gets much worse and the Feds will legislate profit sharing like the NFL has, or in other words a robin hood type legislation.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

I can't believe the elected officials in Kommiefornia are so shortsighted. But if the morons there keep electing them, then they need to be left to their own income. Not to mention the thousands being adde to the unemployment pool to cut overhead.

First off, they're not passing a law making it illegal to change your oil whenever you want. They're just trying to educate people to stop wasting oil by killing off old habits. Technology has improved to the point where oil changes aren't needed as often. Are lube shops going to take a hit? Yep. Is it a part of life? Yep. With your train of thought, we would still have laborers out there driving every rail spike in by hand and would still have operators operating switchboards down at the telephone branch exchange. God forbid we put all those phone operators out of jobs

My 98 GMC Sierra (Vortec 350) has 210k miles on it currently, and the oil thats in it now has around 8k miles on it. It doesn't smoke, doesn't leak, doesn't make funny sounds...and I've done the oil changes typically at about 6-7k miles since I bought it in 2002. I'm planning to change the oil and filter tomorrow. If I'm to understand a lot of the misinformation the oil change shops and car dealerships like to tell people...my old ancient 98 SFI350 should have frozen up over 100k miles ago or should have exploded into a million pieces right? The only concern most of these so called experts have is PROFIT. Ya'll do what you want.
