  • I need help finding a 3rd row seat for 2008 Suburban

Someone broke into one of my family members' 2008 Suburban night before last and stole the 3rd row seat. It's a black leather interior. I've looked on eBay, CL and a handful of other places with little luck The dealerships said they were $2,500. I found a guy locally that has one that will work for $750 in "like new" condition, but having never bought a 3rd row seat, I don't know whether that's a good price or not. Do any of y'all know (1) where else to look for a reasonable priced seat; and/or (2) whether $750 is a fair price for one.

    TIA

Although I can't comment on the exact price, I do know that the third row seats are hideously expensive and stealing them is a big racket.

Heh. Are you sure you're not buying back their stolen seat?

The deductible is $1K, so if I can get the seat for less than that, it would be stupid to make a claim on the insurance AND pay the additional money. Call me crazy, but that seems like the common sense way of resolving the issue.

Or....they cut you a check for the price of a new seat minus the deductible, and you buy a used seat for $750. 2,500-1,000-750=750?

Again, call me crazy, but having a claim on the insurance and potentially committing insurance fraud isn't worth $750. Plus, my family member is way to straight lace to go with your plan.

I sell them for anywhere from 1000 to 2000 depending on what it is.

King Rand Super Duty seats go for 10k regularly.
