          Ummm, it's only rated @ 285Hp and 800Ft/Lb tq w/the turbo working. It's a 8.3L turd!

If in fact this is true, I'm even more disappointed.

Sand paper it, then JB weld the impeller back together, then use tape the hold it together, it's a serious performance upgrade, minimal lag

Depending on average speed of the vehicle....

Last time I looked at my hours vs odometer my average speed was ~44mph
                    .

My average would be 6.3 Mph and most of that above 1600RPM. TBH, our equipment was prescribed a 250Hr PM schedule and in the name of savings, someone decided to up it to 500Hrs about this time last year.

Our use of the equipment is less severe service and more severe abuse, I'm surprised we don't have more failures like this. My WTf comment was very tongue and cheek.

Not possible!!! Cummins are made out of secret magic metal they found on the moon called Perfectionium.

C'mon now, this is a municipal fleet dept we're talkin about.

I'm worried about how much of the shrapnel made it into the intercooler, whether or not it's damaged and if they're gonna check/flush it to see.

I believe they're replacing the whole turbo as opposed to rebuilding it but I could be mistaken.
