LOL I saw this part and was reminded about a thread in the armory where a guy in his back yard was hit by a stray bullet that allegedly came from a near by range......
Originally posted by News StoryOfficials said Mythbusters had been using the firing reservation for the last eight years for similar experiments, but none had gone awry.

Sounds far, shit Dublin might even be in a different county (Contra Costa possibly). Even if it was in Alameda county, I would like to know when the site is. Dublin is super far from Alameda (the island Alameda at least). It's like 20 something miles away.Ded

The video in the pic forum shows a quick overhead shot, and the bomb range is right next door to this neighborhood.
As an aside, I drove through Dublin on the way to and from Monterey a few months ago. I had no idea at the time that it's where Mythbusters bkows shit up.

According to some of the folks in the armory, its the stupid homeowners and minivan owners fault, they shouldnt have built their homes or parked their vans there."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury." -Alexander Fraser Tytler

On a few episode they use a standard US 6lb artillery piece. It has a range of up to 1500yds by the books with a 1.5lb charge pushing the round. If it skipped a berm or cleared it, who knows how far it could really go.
We always stuck to military installations to fire our artillery as it was nothing short of easy to lay a round in on target at 2200m and hell further if we could see. People who insist on shooting those things in their back yard or somewhere within miles of a city have a tough concept of what's really happening.
