  • Needing to find someone to appraise a SUV

My wife needs to get an appraisal done on her Chrysler Aspen since it was rear ended, suprisingly enough by a guy who works for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The appraisal is to establish Diminished Value on her car from the accident to recoup the loss of value. Anyone know a good place to go or someone who works at a dealship that can help us? We are not looking to trade in the Aspen, just get an appraisal on the value before and after the accident.

State Value in FW can do it, but it'll cost ya. A qualified person at a dealer, i.e. someone in sales should be able to give you something in writing.

You're trying to get diminished value and you're trying to get it from Enterprise? Good luck.

I would think that they are trying to get it from the other drivers insurance company.. He just mentioned that they guy works for Enterprise.

OIC...I was thinking Enterpise employee driving their car. Either way getting DV from any company is a PITA. Whatever the appraiser writes they will still lowball you an offer less than what they determined in the appraisal you present them.

I went to several dealerships, spoke to their Pre-Owned sales managers, and had them give estimates on my car without being wrecked and with disclosure of an accident. I had existing relationships with the people I asked, so you may want to call around and see if anyone has the time to help you out.
