have you looked in spring? also i know you said east of 45, but west of 45 at 2920, (think the cypress area) there are a ton of homes. and that is still on a few minutes from the woodlands.

Yeah I'm considering spring too. I just got done looking at houses in that area. I live in cypress now, just trying to get centrally located for certain reasons and need to go east a little.

Check Rayford/Sawdust east of 45, also Spring Cypress east of 45 is nice. I would recommend staying North of Cypresswood drive for sure and North of Louetta if you can swing it.

There are good public school districts in Houston, you just have to know which ones and recognize that most districts are large enough that there are good and bad schools within the same district. I personally would avoid Spring ISD, particularly if ti's zoned to Westfield HS. Klein ISD and Conroe ISD (Woodlands) are good choices. Humble ISD is good as long as you stay out of Humble proper (Kingwood and Atascocita are Humble ISD also).

be careful wanting a big yard if you're alone. it can be a real bitch taking care of it in the summer and lawn guys will charge around $35-40 per week to cut it. and you'll have to fertilize it, treat for ants, etc. Find a house close to a park so the little one can tear ass there and someone else takes care of it. I can't stress enough to you to write down the things you want and DON"T want in a house first. I'm stuck in a house I built and don't want now, underwater on the mtg to.

cool, red95gts info i pretty spot on. im taking Jr to wrestling at the cypress VFW this friday. not sure how the white trash is so strong with this one considering him being a halfbreed. good luck in your search

Plan on buying a house in four months and never owned one before. Guess I'm on here to get any advise on mistakes that might have happend with your purchase or move, how to go about it, what all you need to make sure is done...etc. I'm totally clueless when it comes to this stuff.

I didnt read everything, but if it needs more than Paint and Flooring, walk away. I wound up "going fishing" with eleventy billion lowball offers on short sales, and finally, months later picked one up ($290,000, within walking distance of the beach, and bicycle riding distance of the new University of Hawaii campus) Don't buy something bigger than you need, and look into home owners dues, maintenance fees etc.
