I thought I saw a thread for a TV for around $250. Maybe it wasn't this forum and that would explain why I can't find it.

I am looking for a 32/40" for my room and office so I am looking for best deals.

Honestly with the sites I just mentioned you have to be somewhat on a mission and ready to purchase. The sites have so many people they can wipe out stock of stuff within minutes.

I hate telling people about them as it just adds to the clickers I am competing with. lol

Just watch and they post deals all day everyday. Jump on one you like and most of the time avoid tax and they will deliver it to your porch for free.

Man that seemed like a pretty good deal! I will definitely keep an eye out but the only downside to that is (for me personally) is that I like to see what kind of picture my TV is going to have. However, I am not going to be to picky with these as they are bedroom/office TV's and won't be watching anything of spectacular quality (blu ray, dvd, etc).

I didn't see those online when I looked a few minutes ago. I may just start walking around the Walmart/Best Buys to see what they have.

I would recommend against the Samsung. Mine only lasted about 18 months. I replaced the main board, the most common failure point, butbit still doesn't work. I have another Samsung, that is making me nervous, but has not had a problem. They were bought about the same time. Search Samsung tv's th won power up. They apparently build all their boards pretty crappy. Just my 2 cents and experience.

I have a 50" Samsung plasma that I have had for around 3 years and haven't had any issues with it. Maybe it was just that model?

The good thing about most of the post is the community will point out reviews and specs right off the bat. You can always do your own research as well. Anyways good luck.

My mother has a 62" Samsung that was one of the older bulb projection DLP's.
It ended up with the known bad DLP chip problem which results in white dots all over it. I did some research online and found a place where they were talking about it that also provided a number to call and open a trouble call with them. The TV was 2 years old and out of warranty. After sending someone out and confirming it was the known issue they replaced the chip and it has worked flawlessly since. The is awesome CS.

I just had this same issue fixed as well free. Did take a little bitching being as my 56" is 5+ yrs old but it was the chipset issue n was fixed. I havent changed the bulb either and know it has well over 10K hours on it. It was calibrated with my disc though for that time.

Actually, I do remember now that I had the same board replaced in my larger samsung lcd. Mine was covered under the extended warranty (best buy) though and fixed the problems I was having. Mine is almost 4 years old now with no other issues.

If I get 2 years out of a sub $300 TV, I'm fine with that. If I'm spending more money, I'd buy from costco because they add another year to manufacturers warranty automatically, and you can then buy another 3 years for 99 dollars.
