Why pay for an aircard when your cell phone can do the same thing?

i would have to pay an extra 40 dollars a month to set up the phone to be a hot spot and i have heard that some people get shitty service with their phones

It's only $30 for me on my EVO (Sprint).

The only downside is that it drains the battery fast.

Is the company paying for it? If so I'd let them pay for a dedicated aircard.

If you decide to use the phone for it...there are apps that allow this without paying for the hotspot app (although you prolly need to root the phone).

As far as the concern for the battery use.....buy a .99 cent USB to microUSB cable and plug it into one of your USB ports to charge the phone (thats what I do).

you can root it and do the hotspot for free on your evo.

Yup, can be done for free on Android phones. Also, could just tether an Android phone.

Either way, especially if 4G - use the phone not a dedicated card. I believe with 4G you don't have that restriction of data OR talking...meaning one or the other.

Sprint just changed their contracts. I got a 4g hot spot with a 6 gig limit for $50 a month. Paid $50 for the device. works great

You can have this for 30.00 and then you can get a SIMM from ATT and not have to be in a contract since you would have your own equipment. I use MiFi from them and I am able to stream videos and dont have issues with it.
