In 278th District Court Wednesday, Arturo Fernandez testified that his brother, Alfonso Hernandez, hadn’t really killed another dog before the April 1st, 2009 shooting of a dog belonging to former Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell. It was a lie he said he told to a Texas Ranger looking into the death of the dog.
Alfonso Hernandez is looking at a state jail felony charge of cruelty to non-livestock animals for his part in the death of a Labrador retriever belonging to Luttrell. Alfonso Hernandez has been charged by the D-A’s office as an accomplice. Michael Edmonds pled guilty to shooting Luttrell’s dog. Luttrell is expected to go on the witness stand as the trial continues today.
