He works for the Ranger's organization, all of their employees get a bonus for the team winning their division and league. When you go into post season play everyone that doesn't work for a sub contractor gets a bonus.

Good luck getting that job, unless Nolan owes your dad a favor or someone in your family is an ex player you aren't getting it. They get paid about the same as your average high school kid most of the time.

Bat boys and others also often get bonus cash or gifts from the players. Those kids can make cash if they hustle as the players often having them doing crazy stuff running everywhere to get food, equipment, etc. It's more than just shagging bats.

Yeah, a few bat boys got tied up in the BALCO scandal. When you have access to very wealthy people you can make a lot of cash doing things for them.

I don't know what his regular wage was, but I'm sure he will have to pay taxes on that bonus. He won't net $40k.
