  • New Truck New Project

Well after the Mark got totaled I needed a new ride. Knowing I will eventually need something to tow around the Mustang project I decided on a truck.

    I found a clean 1976 C10 for a really good price.

Yes it needs some work and TLC, but it is solid and good for a daily drive right now.

    It's got a 350/350 in it
No AC right now but heater works great!!!

    Things to do:
    Interior from red to gray
    Tint
    Tires
Trans crossmember (one in is for a single exh and the exh is badly cobbled together right now)
    New exhaust
    2/4 drop

    Drive it

In that 2nd pic, you still have those factory wheels? I would much rather have those at some point than the 80's disco wheels on there now.

Cool truck, I wish I had a square body FS but my little Dime is dead reliable.

hold on to it.. those swb square bodies are getting harder and harder to find! i sold an '80 lwb now and still have my '63 swb.. kinda sorta tossing around the idea of trading my bmw e30 for another '80 swb, just cant justify having 3 trucks

                  F you!!

I miss the SVO badly and kick myself ALL the damn time for selling it!!!!

After I get the 86GT project running and driving, I might just get rid of it and get back into an SVO again.

                  Time will tell.

You can find rally wheels cheap all the time, easy as hell to paint/powdercoat to whatever floats your boat.

                    That's what I did.

Short bed>Long bed. Have no clue if short beds were even offered back then. Doubt it. Back in HS I used to mow my dad's friend's lawn and he had a badass lowered 80's model Chevy with a shortened cab. One of the coolest trucks I've seen.

The shortbeds are the way to go for custom no doubt.

Mine will hopefully end up part custom part stock. I'm sure the direction will change several times before I finally part with it some day. Who knows?

                          Just enjoying it right now!!!!

Beautiful truck Superwho. I've been feeling the classic truck bug for awhile now. I'd like to find a late '70's Ford shortbed, stepside 4x4 would be nice. Or I really love the '50's GM trucks as well.

There is a white 50's model GMC in Haltom City off Denton Highway that went up for sale a couple weeks ago.
Of course after I found my 76'!!!

                              It didn't have a price just a phone #.
I called of course. Waiting to hear back.
