But if a white person were to say anything to the effect of "your people" or "your kind" black people will blow up and get all wild eyed.

I think the whole idea of it is pretty ridiculous myself. A church, who is supposed to be accepting of everyone, runs interracial couples off because the pastor doesn't like it ?!? LMAO !!

Who cares what others do. People need to mind their own business and stop trying to push other people around

I used to have to visit a customer in Prestonsburg, KY one week a month for almost a year, a few years back. The same time I was there our financial auditors would be there too.. One of the guys on that team was black. The first time he went out there he was asking the business owner for a suggestion on a place to eat. The owner gave him a suggestion followed by advising him not to stay there too late. When the auditor asked why, the owner said something to the effect of "you don't want to be there when locals start getting drunk".

That auditor never went anywhere but the hotel and the customer's location from then on.

Yea, and I got a similar suggestion about driving through the Bronx when visiting NY. Me being a cracker and all.

This exist everywhere and targets all races and creeds. Not just the poor beleaguered black man is a potential victim of negatively reinforced stereotypes.

And regarding the main topic, I think it's clear that most people tried to distance themselves from the situation. Something to think about before we pigeonhole places like Kentucky and West Virginia.

Bigotry and ignorance is a disease process that is and probably will always remain ubiquitous in our society. Just as religious intolerance is a quagmire in the middle east and will most likely never allow for a pathway to peace.
