My wife's mother has been working there for over 40 years. Their pension will go to another company, which have already said if AA goes bankrupt they will have to file for bankruptcy, which then will go to the government for us tax payers to bail out the pensions.
That's why you saw a massive exit of old pilots retiring this past year as they saw the writing on the wall. If they haven't retired by today, they will only get up to 45k a year for their pension, instead of the 200-300k+."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. I had to LOL at the press release I heard this morning. Something along the lines of,"Operations will continue uninterrupted, along with unchanged payroll figures. Passengers will notice no changes". How in the HELL do you declare bankruptcy and make no changes in personel, payroll, expenses, etc? If that's how you got there, shouldn't there be some changes? I quit flying American after a trip to Italy in 2004. Idiots.

Those points add up though, I had no idea but I flew just around 110,000 miles in the last year and a half. And to think they couldn't give me a $100 voucher for losing my luggage in India for 3 weeks.... Shits crazy!Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

Anyone in DFW that hopes AA goes out of business is pretty ignorant of the ramifications. AA has about 25000 employees in DFW alone. The sudden loss of that many working people is a kick in the economic nuts that none of us want.
But, of course, that isn't happening. Chap 11 is just reorganization. AA gets with the creditors and reorganizes it's debt. Some debts may be cancelled but a lot of it won't be. Commonly held stock can be cancelled but sometimes it isn't. There is a lot more to it than that but that's the gist of it...
I'm just wondering if they'll cancel my miles. I'm betting they won't but you never know.

My mother in law was just bitching about not having a raise in 22 years, and actually had a pay cut 8 years ago...
