  • company christmas parties- anyone else have one?

just had to share how lame ours is going to be. the corporate office sent our district manager an email stating this year's christmas party (salaried managers) can not include alcohol and our budget is $5 per manager. so with 29 managers, im guessing we all should go to Wendy's and eat off the dollar menu? give me a break.

We don't have them anymore. Since we've outsourced so much, we don't want any of the non-American employees to feel excluded

Five Star used to have badass ones. Free beer and wine, poker, raffles for all kinds of cool stuff, decent food, pool...basically a real party. Then one year, instead of having it on Saturday like usual, they had it on a Wednesday because somebody had booked the usual place before Five Star did. Hardly anybody showed up, and they didn't have alcohol. The next year, they had it on a Saturday...but no alcohol. I went with a flask of whiskey and let me tell ya'...one of the most depressing places ever. We worked with these people 40-65 hours a week soberly. The last thing we want to do is be sober around them on a Saturday night. Nobody dancing to the live band (white people don't dance sober), hardly anybody playing poker because it's also not that much fun sober...just sucked. Now, there are no more christmas parties.

I've never worked a job where we had a company Christmas party, I guess I'm not missing much!

Achmed firing all low level employeemans before holydays! No paying the bonuses for poor employeemans this year!

They get jobs back after holyday.

I work for L-3 & they definitely know how to throw a party... It has been good every year that I've gone. The only employer I've had that threw a better party was Northrop Grumman.

Yep, having it at the Omni Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. Should be decent, but I never have high expectations for a company Christmas party.
