We did the tree yesterday. The wife and I discussed exterior lights and said to hell with it...

I don't think I'll be doing them this year, but nothing annoys me more than lights that aren't perfectly spaced apart and all facing the same direction. Please take the time to do it correctly.

Yes sir! This would be why it took me a day and half to put them up.

I did mine. No roof but I did break out the tape measure for the lights around the garage door though. I was up in my front tree wrapping limbs with light though, real fun in the wind. Went to Calloways to look at trees, saw the price tag ($180+) and then went to lowes and got a $30 tree. Awwwwyaaa!!

Same. Put them up the weekend before Thanksgiving since the weather was nice.

I did the exterior except for the roof so far. BTW, you cannot find a friggen green clear C7 light anywhere this year. Noone has them. Looks like I will be finally transitioning over to LEDs.

LOL! My neighbors sister flew in last year for Christmas. When they were driving down our road, and she saw my house, her comment was 'How did he get those lights so straight?'

I usually use the big bulbs, and every single one was pointed in the same direction, perfectly spaced. There really is a difference between lights... and lights done right...

My lights on my roof are really good. Its easy to get them to point straight up and be evenly spaced. I'm not too happy with the lights that went around my windows because it is brick there and I had trouble getting them to face the same way. What do ya'll use when going over brick?

Not yet but I'm sure next weekend I'll be on our roof hanging them. I only have a few to hang. We just do white icicles on the front edges and a few in the bushes. We plan to go next weekend and get a tree also. Usually we have a fake white tree but we plan to buy a real tree this year. Should be cool.
