the 05 and 07 half tons we have done nothing to

now the 05 ford we all know about those pieces of shit 6.0s, so nothing needs to be said for it,

the gmc's of mine couldnt hold a trans together to save its life, went thru 3 different trucks, i like the gmc , just sucky drive train
I've had the opposite experience as you. Either owned or operated several various fords over the years, even the 6.0 and never had a single problem out of them. Bought new, (for small business but heavy duty use) and sold at about 340K miles just cause that is when I sell my trucks. Never had any problems out of ford, outside of basic maintenance, that wasn't fixed by the warranty. After warranty was up, no recurrence. The GM's seemed a little worse, but tolerable. Dodge was just one expensive failure after another. But then I've noticed that some people just get lucky with one brand and not so lucky with others. So I stick to ford cause that is what I've had luck with. However, my nationwide reliability rating claim still stands. According to JD Power, you have higher odds of having trouble out of a dodge than a Ford. More people total have had problems.

understood, i have bought 8 new dodges (diesels) since 1995 and never a problem from any, i still think the cheby/gmc's are unreliable, i have a friend who rodeos and gets them for basically nothing , who just bought a new dodge cause he couldnt keep the chevy running, thats pretty sad. i love the ford , just hate the fuel mileage compared to the dodge (empty or hauling)its not even comparable, with the miles we cover yearly it adds up

I'm disappointed to say the least...
        Dang, thats terrible.

My 06 6.0 with a 2" lift, 22" wheels with 37" tires, cat delete, sct tuner would knock down 16+ mpg hwy. It actually averaged out better than my current 6.4 deleted.

I have the egr delete. Does the cat delete help out? May have to look at that...

Hell, the lie meter only gets up to 15.4, by hand it averages 12.2, and that's with me not being hard on it at all.

How did you fit 37s with only a 2" lift?

You guys can talk about what you see here and what you see there all you want. Ford F series pick ups are the most sold vehicle in the country the last time I looked, usually specifically because of fleet type usage. That should say something.

Personally I don't really care one way or the other; I'll never own a pick up. But try to base your opinions off something solid rather than arguing perceptions.

New truck sales in October 2011:

                  Ford F - Series PU 52,511
                  Chevrolet Silverado PU 36,656
                  Dodge Ram PU 21,037

Again, I like them, but new Fords are higher than giraffe pussy. Resale on older ones are high as well. Why get in to a 3 year old truck, with 80k miles, when I get get in to a new one, or one with >10k miles for less money?

Resale is a big contention point, but it wouldn't matter to me because resale will be shit by the time I sell it anyways. Hence paying cash for vehicles, finding the best deal I can possibly get, and not caring about having the nicest or what is perceived to be the nicest. Sure, I could go buy a Mercedes C63 tomorrow. But it doesn't make sense for my needs.

                      True that.

I lifted the back an additional 2" so it stayed in the factory stance. Front is just 2" spacers. It would rub the inner fender plastic off road fully compressed, but no metal contact. On the street no rub. My little brother fit 37" tires on his dodge with 2" lift.

Moved the front bumper out 1", pulled the fender plastic back, and a little hammering on the back edge of the front fender.

Main thing is wheel offset anyway. I've had some stupid large tires on vehicles without much lift.

Damn, that looks a LOT like my truck, though yours is a little newer and nicer. Mine has 2" blocks as well and I had to mess around with the fender plastic just to fit 35s. I think the owner before me also moved the front bumper forward.
