Ford makes a great truck, IMO, but I have not been in a new Dodge. They sure are ugly. Again, JMO.

I'm a lifelong Chevy truck guy. They are as tough as they come. I know what they are capable of. My last was a 04 CC 3/4 ton with the 6.0. I hated to sell that truck, but I had to. The lsx platform is where it's at for reliability. But damn they are proud of them.

My main motivation in this is the huge resale hit they take. Allowing me to get in to a very new low mile truck for a fraction of the cost. I'm not worried about resale, as I'll put a couple hundred thousand miles on it. I should really get a diesel for longevity, but I prefer the 5.9 to the new platform. And these brand new gassers are damned nice. I really can't stress enough how impressed I've been this weekend. My Dad bought it late spring, and hasn't had a single complaint.

Maybe in ~5 years or so down the road when the current trucks have 150k or so on them, I'll reevaluate my stance on them. As of right now I'm not going to buy a product that has proven itself unreliable in the past. Even in this same thread it was said they changed transmissions from '11 to '12 because they were having issues. That whole deal reeks of poor engineering, something I've grown to expect from the dodge/Chrysler/jeep brands.
I'd argue the reliability of any of the x.7 engines over their auto trans. I can't keep enines in stock, but I have hundreds of trannys that I never get called for.

I really haven't had too many issues out of my 03 2500, although the BCM is a headache. I wouldn't have an issue looking at a new Ram, if I needed a truck.

LMFAO, comparing youtube drag racing vids as a buying decision on a new truck. What kind of fucking moron would take a truck down a dragstrip anyway?

I have feeling they would be pretty close in stock form.
It should be but it isn't. I've lined up with a few hemis on the street and it isn't even close. I just roll into the throttle not even smashing it and leave them behind. With the ecoboost you have max torque the second those turbos start to spool.

This thread is about the Ram, not Chevy. Seeing that this is a Ford site, of course F-150s will be brought up.

              Stay on point son.

I like the F-150 as well, and really like the Eco boost. But they are way more than I want to spend, and the suspension is a little more stiff than I care for.

It doesn't make sense for me to buy new, and it doesn't make sense to buy pay more for an older, more preferred platforms like an lsx or 5.4 f-150. I put way too many miles on vehicles way too quick for it to be a sound choice. Like I said, I wasn't even beginning to think about a newer vehicle. I'm perfectly fine with my nearly 200,000 mile Expedition. The experience with his this weekend has definitely made me think twice though.

Ive got a 2011 Ram Laramie. Love it!! Ride is smooth and havent had any issues(only been like 15K miles haha)

Im a big Ram fan. Dad bought a 98 new and handed it down to me 3 years ago. We never had to do a single major fix on the vehicle. lasted to about 185K before I traded it in and even then it still had no issues

Dodge is the only one who has ever had problems huh? At least they are willing to fix the issue. Have you heard about the transmissions put in the new 5.0 Mustangs? The are rated for less than the Mustang puts out stock.

To answer your question, could probably be ha for $25ish. Too rich for my blood. I really need to find a hail deal like he did. I'm too old to give a damn about impressing anyone. So I don't care if every panel on it is dinged up. I just want a more quiet/comfortable ride than my high mile Expy has become.
