  • Going to Texarkana to school the Army

Every so often I'm privileged with the opportunity to talk to the military community and the contractors who work with them. Monday through Wednesday I'll be at Red River Army Depot talking with them about how to hire disabled veterans and what to expect from us and what not to expect.

Despite me coming off as a cocky asshole a lot on here, I cherish opportunities like this, when I get to talk to my brothers once more and help those without jobs find their way back into the world. Wish me luck. It's going to be interesting but no where near as stressful as dealing with the White House.

That's awesome man. When you have them, can you post up your notes and such on what you'll say/or what you said? I'm interested in this from a disabled veteran perspective so I know going forward.

Via a buddy I hired I know of a Marine (no longer enlisted) who is sharp, but does not quite have the skill set needed. Supposedly he is working on it and I can get him positioned to be hired. However, he has a "mild" case of PTSD that is mainly depression oriented as far as I can tell. His personal life is discombobulated, but it does not affect his work. (As far as I know/witnessed)

Anyway, if we do pursue him it would be nice to start slickly getting management understanding anything that may cause red flags. Either way, it would be good to understand better. I've read a bunch, but never had it straight from the horses mouth kind of thing.

Good work man! Iv found that a lot of the board members on here have a different personality on the board than they do in real life. A lot of crap talking on the board but the same guys will bend over backwards to help people out.

Well, basically I'm going to fill them in on my experience with PTSD and TBI and what to expect. That they can't expect a level of PC from us because most of us with these issues don't have that internal buffer. It's going to be interesting and I'm looking forward to it.

As far as the Marine (like us infantry, there's never an ex Marine), there are laws out there that mandates governmental agencies hire us and if he has a purple heart he gets an additional 10 points on the government hiring tests. USAjobs.com is a pretty good place to do some job hunting

That's probably 80% of all of the board no bullshit.

I have the same personality in person, but I will and have provided places to stay, food and money for my brothers and sisters.
