GM and ford have switched places. GM used to be slightly faster (stock) now it appears the tables have turned. If you can afford it, anyway. You wouldn't catch me paying those prices for no damn camaro or mustang.

I think the 650hp Shelby is going to be quicker straight-line than the 580hp ZL1, but it's quite possible the ZL1 will be faster around a road course. I CANNOT wait for the comparison tests in the car mags, it's going to be fun.

Either way, it's a great time to be a horsepower car enthusiast. Seriously, factory stock 580hp Camaros and 650hp Mustangs? It's nuts.

If they follow the camaro's handling trend as of late, I wouldn't bet on it.

Motorweek seems to hate on the camaro's handling a good deal

The SS and the Zl1 do not share the same suspension.

Kind of a bold statement considering the camaro just made a comeback a few years ago, and the fact that their 6.2 ltr is getting outran by a 5.0

Exactly. Ford's solid axle is working for them, but it's still annequated. I hope the Camaro designers let those guys at Cadillac draw them a nice picture of what they've done. It's impressive.

aaand this. I'm a Ford fan, but I am loving the competition's aspirations.

Now they need to back that up. Makes for a nice rivalry, and even a Ford guy like me glad the Camaro is back.

That's what ford is saying to the z... z... whatever with their 650Hp shelby.

GM is just pissed that the GT500 makes more HP with a smaller displacement

I'd rather see ford do something in the sedan market with the DEW98 platform. It is going to waste in favor of the crappy 500/taurus POS.
