Reading this made me want to vomit. All I can say is if that was my little girl all those people wouldve heard is the sound of the clip going in the .45 and POP his ass is history.

My point is, you can teach your kids all day, every day the right and wrong of things. It's still up to them to follow your teachings. I grew up in a VERY religious home, got my ass beat all the time (deserved it), parents still married, etc. I had every advantage in life you could think of, and the proper raising to not be a hellion. Yet, I was still a hellion. Once I got to a certain age, the ass whippings no longer scared me, and I just didn't give a fuck to put it simply. Got in to a bunch of trouble at school, and a bunch of trouble following school. It wasn't until my first child was born that I finally straightened up.
Probably should read the article. Also, I think you're confusing things that I would call "phases" in life. Normal kid growing up stuff.

If you were to consider having sex with a 5 y/o to be normal (at any age), I'd consider you a deviant. I had strict parenting as well and still did a lot of things wrong, learning. It's generally part of the learning process.

Also, I'm saying more from a supervision point of view. The girl's parent/guardian and the boy's parent/guardian probably should've seen it (at the McDonalds). Unless it is a one pump or the word rape is being used incorrectly. Either way, you'd think one of the two would be watching.

I fully understand what you're saying about arm chairing it. Shit happens fast, but there was a parenting failure on different levels in this scenarion and taking generally at face value.

Don'twannanotgonnamakeme! Shit like this makes me sad. It's the same reason I won't read the Sandusky indictment, and don't watch the news. If it's something that is upsetting like this, I'll read the headlines and that's it.

Hang on now, I never said it was normal. I agree whole heartedly. I'm saying just because you teach them right from wrong, doesn't mean they won't choose wrong.

That makes sense, and I agree. If both sets of parents were there, they both should have seen something suspicious before it ever happened. My son is 10, and while I keep a close eye on him, I keep a much closer eye on my daughter (almost 4). If she is out of my sight for 30 seconds, I'm up looking for her. If I even saw a 10+ year old child talking to or playing with my daughter, I'd be within earshot and listening closely. There is no reason for a 10+ year old child and a 5 yr old of opposite sexes to be playing together, unless they are siblings or relatives. I'd have been suspicious the moment he walked up to her. Call me overprotective, but I'll be goddamned if something like this is going to happen on my watch. I also don't know how most McD's, are, but the one I take the kids to (against my will) has glass doors separating the casual seating, from the playground, and there is also seating in the playground. We sit in the playground area. I'd never even consider sitting on the other side of the glass wall/doors. With kids, things happen too damn fast.

Fair enough and my point was intended to be that what you described is normal IMO. We do dumb, rebellious crap growing up and I'm not sure there is much that can be done about. Parents can only instill common sense-etc to the best of their ability and hope that little voice kicks in before a 16-18 y/o kid - without supervision - does something too dumb.

Doing that to a little 5 y/o falls outside of my definition of a normal phase for kids. I get it that he's all horned up, but normal boys would not consider that as humpable.

In the end, we agree I think.

          Take care,

Not really. Sandusky came 15 years ago.
