You are so ignorant it hurts.

If the PD was a business, it would go bankrupt. There is no way it could sustain itself. The rediculous thing about PD services is that the poorest parts of a city (that contribute the least to the tax base) demand the vast majority of police (and fire) services. The cost of housing prisoners and prosecuting offenders is outrageous. That is why DAs everywhere use the plea bargain as much as they do. Only a small percentage (around 10% or less) of cases ever go to trial.

So you are saying that an officer has to write $60k worth of tickets a year?

I've always believed in the 10% rule. 10% of any workforce is worthless or dishonest.

NYPD has over 30,000 officers. These 8 officers don't surprise me.

Oh, and I've always worked on the 10% rule. 10% of employees are dead weight, dishonest, or all around worthless.

NYPD has over 30,000 officers. So, these 8 officers don't surprise me.

What about the numerous patrol officers that answer calls all day? How much revenue to you think they generate working accidents, assault calls, theft calls, burglary calls, etc????

I wrote a ticket to a guy today for pan handling. How much money do you think the city is going to get out of a homeless guy???

And I also agree that though NYPD has over 30,000 officers, 8 officers don't surprise me either.

So what was the point of you writing the homeless guy a ticket? Why not just run him off?

3,000 cops? That's a LOT of fucked up lives, and IMO, is unacceptable.

Edit: Matt, did you get in to see the judge/prosecutor? I'm going to hound you about this. lol

Because that's the worst I can do. When tickets go to warrant they can go to jail for a few hours.

I know of a cop who got fired from Hunt country for beating handcuffed inmates, then was sent to a city where he did it again, then sent to another city where he got popped for DWI by a state trooper, then sent to another city where he got drunk, had his wife drive his squad and she (being drunk as well with him sleeping in uniform in the passenger seat) slammed the cruiser into a light pole at speed.

I was pretty pissed. It took 3 hours of standing out in 40* weather in a tee and shorts. Looking into legal action because it took so damn long.
I would 100%! There's more violations they committed besides keeping you too long.

I know of a soldier who murdered his whole family. I arrested a (married w/children) Army Major for homosexual conduct in a public park during the daytime. He cried and begged me not to tell his wife.

But I'm intelligent enough to know that these clowns arent representative of all soldiers.

That was ended when the state licensing agency adopted the "Gypsy Cop Law". If an officer quits before being fired, there is a phrase that is used to put on the officer's record that is supposed to prohibit him from maintaining his license.
