So I got to pet a wild deer today.

I go play softball in prison once a month and talk about the bible with inmates. This particular prison has about 4-5 deer that are so tame that they will walk up to you on the field and expect you to pet/feed them. I had one come up to me behind the dugout and start licking my hand. It was a doe and she is getting fat from all of the candy and junk food she gets fed. I wish I could've taken pictures but it's prison so no pics.
Anyone else got to be that close to wild deer?

I have family out at PK Lake and the deer are protected so it's very common... It is pretty cool to do...

J/K....well actually that did happen but....my parents went to a national park in Colorado when I was younger and the deer would walk up to you and let you pet them. It was kinda cool. Back in 2004 when I was doing oversize load escorting we delivered some water storage tanks to the oilfield in Lysite Wyoming and while we were loading up our trucks on a flatbed a HUGE deer..well probably more like an Elk walked right up to us and I thought it was going to kill us with its huge antlers..it could have killed my Z71 truck it was so big.

Tried, with 3 very drunk friends, to tackle one in hopes of a BBQ. Thing double hoofed my buddy and sent him flying, as we backed off he bolted leaving us laughing hysterically at our friend with the newly cracked ribs.

There was a family of 5 that hung out around my apartments up near St. Paul, MN. They were friendly enough to allow you to pet them, except for the buck (8 point), he just stayed a few feet away and kept an eye on things. When he decided it was time to go, he gave a little snort and they were on their way.
